Open Wim4rk opened 1 year ago

Wim4rk commented 1 year ago

Issue type

Engraving bug

Bug description

No response

Steps to reproduce

  1. open files where parts (one or more) have been opened (or rather created).
  2. Create a local time signature by pressing ctrl and dragging it to apropriate part and measure.
  3. Error message in 4.0.2: "Bar is not empty". Error message in 4.1: "This score already contain parts".

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

MuseScore Version

4.0.2 and 4.1

Regression

I don't know

Operating system

Windows 11

Additional context

Workaround: Delete parts by opening MuseScore file in a zip-program, entering folder called "excerpts" and deleting all subfolders (all parts). A proper way to delete (or reset) parts would be helpful.

Jojo-Schmitz commented 1 year ago

Same in 2.x and 3.x, so not a regression. Prior to 4.1 though the error message was much worse and misleading

MarcSabatella commented 1 year ago

The regression is that in MU4 you can no longer workaround this by removing the parts - once opened there is no going back.

Jojo-Schmitz commented 1 year ago

Ah, yes, that's indeed true

Edit: Well, I could delete parts, via the ... menu Screenshot 2023-06-21 155457 and after that apply a local time sig

MarcSabatella commented 1 year ago

You can only delete custom added parts, not the default ones. Once those have been opened there is no going back.

Jojo-Schmitz commented 1 year ago

Which you don't need to delete here. Just close all parts, delete the custom ones. Works for me. You may need to reset the default ones, I didn't need to as I hadn't modified them.

MarcSabatella commented 1 year ago

It doesn’t work. Once you open the default parts, again, there is no going back. The tabs might be closed but you still can’t add a local timesig.

it’s possible it might work temporarily but definitely not once you save the score.

Jojo-Schmitz commented 1 year ago

Ah, Now I got it. Reseting it does not help, and I believe that's where the issue is: Reset should remove it (from the excerpts folder).
