Trombone, Tuba, Bass Trombone not sounding #19064

Issue type

Muse Sounds bug

Bug description

Using latest version of MS 4 and muse sounds, my score, that is a full orchestration, inexplicably mutes the trombones and tuba on some notes, some bars, some dynamics. I can't see any pattern to it. I can hear that it is trying to play all of the notes, but in the section that prompted me to comment here I am using ff and it varies from ff to ppp or less on playback. Bass trombone and Tuba have identical problem. Notes were pasted from strings, but elsewhere pasting didn't stop these instruments from playing back correctly. Bassoon and contrabasses play the same notes perfectly. Switching to MS basic on the affected instruments "solves" the problem.

Steps to reproduce

I have worked for six months on this score in hundreds of versions, always with MS sounds and in MS4, so I really can't say how I got here, but I am not importing VST's or doing anything unusual with the programme.

My guess is you copied some "arco" or "pizz" markings which won't work with brass, so you'll need to remove those. That's a known issue already fixed for a coming update.

If that's not it, please ZIP and attach your score here and say which notes aren't playing.

The offending brass.zip

I have copied and pasted just one section of the bass brass that won't play properly, in the attached zip. the whole piece is a full orchestra for 700 plus bars that I won't bore you with.

I have tried marking it all arco then unmarking it, and ditto for pizz. That made no difference. I then made a breakthrough when I discovered that removing the staccato marks lets them have their voice back. It's not the articulation I want, but it at least makes it listenable. Thanks for your help!

OK, I can confirm, any notes for these instruments with both staccato and marcato do not play.
