Wrong youtube/video export #20336

Issue type

Engraving bug (incorrect score rendering)

Bug description

When you upload any video to youtube or render it as a video, the result is completely different to the original score, and completely unlegible. It looks to me as the render engine is not taking in consideration the system and page breaks.

Steps to reproduce

1) create a score that looks good on musescore (3x or 4x) 2)upload to musescore.com 3)export to youtube or video and you will be lucky if you get a decent result (no sarcasm)

Screenshots/Screen recordings

MuseScore Version

3x and 4x

Regression

No.

Operating system

mac os

Additional context

this is wrong in any os, in any version, in any instrumentation, uploading with any browser, regardless if you are free or pro user, and all combinations in between

Unless I am completely misunderstanding, that's by design: video export uses continuous view (or an equivalent), which does indeed mean, no breaks.

Unless I am completely misunderstanding, that's by design: video export uses continuous view (or an equivalent), which does indeed mean, no breaks.

Don't think that's the case, nor musescore 3 or 4 support linear or continuous view, also, the video export is not continuous in any case (let alone the lack of options), the video export makes their own "breaks and jumps" not only not taking in consideration the original design of the score, but also, presenting in a super messy and wierd way, making it completely unlegible, please refer to the my youtube links, not only the spacings and the breaks are all wrong but also the text and mark elements are out of place

albrinmelodi commented 3 months ago

Still exactly as it was, I think someone is not understanding the importance of "formatting", and I am wondering WHY this included as a feature of musescore, while this is not in even usable, the problem is very simple, whatever engine is doing is assigning random spacing that doesnt correspond to the original score and also make it almost unreadable, completely messy and awful to even watch

This GitHib tracker is for reporting issues with the open source music notation software MuseScore Studio. For questions about the score-sharing website musescore.com and the feature they offer, please head over to that site and ask there.

Meanwhile, if you want help using MuseScore Studio - include advice on how to use a screen recorder to create your own videos instead of relying on the musescore.com "send to YouTube" facility - please ask on the official Support forum over at musescore.org.

the render software is part of musescore studio, not with musescore.com, of course that i can make my own videos, i am talking about an issue that shouldn't be there, this belongs to the render engine of musescore (the software) AND musescore.com

albrinmelodi commented 3 months ago

i asked many times, to every support slot i could find and nobody seems to even understand the issue here, and it's not a small bug unfortunately!

Hmm, if you are experiencing an issue with MuseScore Studio itself - not with MuseScore.com - then best to edit your original description to clarify that, with a sample score attached and precise steps to reproduce the problem and with all references to MuseScore.com and YouTube removed because they are not relevant. Or if you are now discussing a different issue than the MuseScore.com issue you originally described, better to simply open a new issue. Again, attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem you are perceiving, with no reference to musescore.com or YouTube since they are not relevant.

Or if you are simply saying you wish to see MuseScore Studio implement a new video rendering that uses page view instead of continuous, that’s fine as a feature request. And as you can see. It appears this is being considered for “one of the next releases” in the “MuseScore Studio Backlog”, but the new feature “needs design”. So if that’s what you are looking for, no need to comment further, the request is already logged and duly prioritized.

This issue has been happening since Musescore 3X and Studio. I've tried countless times with different settings, browsers, computers, and so, with the same result. The issue has to do both with Musescore the program and Musescore.com, which is the platform trough you render your scores, either to a video or to a youtube. This has been happening for years, and no one seems to grasp the problem. Which is, again, that the video rendered, does not respect the designed format that you had given to your score. And it's not an issue with "linear view", because is not that simple as that. Is completely relevant Youtube in this case, beacause is the thing that your are doing: Uploading this rendered score to youtube.
