Add a new option in the Chord Symbols properties to have these Chord Symbols taking less place (horizontally) when laid-out on the score.
Problem to be solved
When chord symbols are placed next to each other, MU can run out of space to display them all on the same line, and it starts looking not nice and confused, requiring manual repositioning that can't always be successfully nice.
My suggestion is to add an option to "Squeeze" the chord symbols, similar to the one in iRealPro
Musescore with normal layout
Musescore with Squeezed layout (new)
Prior art
That feature is available in iRealPro:
iRealPro with normal layout
iRealPro with squeezed layout
Additional context
One can think that a solution is to change the font used for rendering Chord Symbol. But :
Condensed fonts might not contain all required specific glyphs;
Changing that font in the Chord Symbol's properties doesn't affect how the Chord Symbol is rendered. It is only affecting the font used when editing the Chord Symbol.
Changing that font in the Chord Symbol's Text Style doesn't affect either how Chord Symbols is rendered. It is only affecting the font used when editing the Chord Symbol.
Actually, the only way for changing the font is changing through one of the stdchord.xml files, but this affects all the cord symbols and only the few selected ones.
