Allow to put fretboard chord diagrams at the top of a score #23450

Your idea

I would like to be able to place chord diagrams in a score, not linked to a specific note. This would allow adding them in a vertical frame at the top a the sheet music like it can be done in Guitar Pro:

Example

This feature has already been asked on the forum, but I do not think that an issue has been raised for it on GitHub yet:

Problem to be solved

Currently, a chord diagram can only be linked to a note, and we can't move it freely, even when "auto-placement" is disabled: Example from https://musescore.org/en/node/356857

The only solution I can think of is by rendering them as an image beforehand, then pasting this image in a frame, but this is only a workaround, and it is not convenient as the image can't be modified any further.

Being able to freely place chord symbols on the page would solve the problem. However, as I think this is a common requirement for guitar players, I believe that it would be even better to be able to place them in a frame that would deal with their alignment and distribution (centered, with the same amount of space between them). It would be so much easier than having to place them manually.

There is/was some infrastructur in the code for a 'fret(board diagram) frame', it's never really been used though.

Yes, we are definitely going to do this. It's actually part of the design spec, but wasn't included in the MVP. So look forward to this in a near future release!

Can someone please fix the typo in the title?
