Is this the setting you'd like to see? This checkbox currently allows you to show a single bracket when hiding empty staves.

Yes, but the setting shown in your screenshot affects all the instruments of the score. I raised the issue of introducing such a setting into the properties of a particular instrument (i.e. so that it does not affect all instruments of the score, but only the one that the user wishes). Moreover, the setting shown in your screenshot can only be available if you make the empty staves of all the instruments of the score invisible. Otherwise, the user will not be able to use this setting.
Your idea
I suggest adding such a property to the "Staff/Part properties..." so that the instrument can be covered by a brace even in the case when there is only one staff.
Problem to be solved
At the moment, MuseScore Studio does not have such a function, and if you try to add a brace manually, then this brace will be superfluous in those systems where it is not required:

Now the most important thing is: why is this necessary? It often happens when the full score (of a symphony orchestra, for example) has an extensive musical texture that may not fit within the bounds of the page, so in this case you have to resort to minimizing the vertical space. And the curly brace should spanning the staff, even if it is a single one (meaning grand staff).
However, do not forget that in the part, the grand staff should always be notated with two staves, as is customary.
