I'd like to know if there exists an efficient way to compute the spectrum not over all the two-dimensional spatial coordinates, but on selected regions.
I've from PHOTUTILS a list of both circular and annulus apertures to perform aperture photometry.
First thought was to use such apertures and masks on on the original datacube, an then compute the spectrum over the selected wavelength range.
However, as I see that there was a subcube_circle_aperture under construction, I wonder if there's a more efficient way to do his.
Dear Community,

Needless to say, many thxs in advance.
Kind regards Jose
