Hi there,

this extension works great, but misses to possibility to paste an image not only from the clipboard but also directly from the file explorer

The extension Markdown Image supports this feature, inspiration may be found in there.

This repository has not seen any activity in over 3 years. There is an actively maintained fork here: https://github.com/telesoho/vscode-markdown-paste-image

Open an issue in that repository and I'll look into implementing it over the Christmas break.
