Not sure about the displayed Focus Points with the GX8. I have some samples where the Focus Point (based on Face Detection) was on the Eye. Most of the time I get a Focus Point displayed in the center of the Picutre.

Can you put the raw image you're talking about on google drive and send me the link here?

From the link you sent, the camera is reporting a focus point of 38% x 43% which is 1969.92 x 1671.84. If you measure those distances out if photoshop you can see that is squarely on the nose which is there the plugin is marking it. The plugin is at the mercy of the metadata. The metadata does say the focus mode is "Face Detect" so the plugin is not respecting that setting. But according to the camera's metadata, it did not focus on the eye. Perhaps if Face detect mode was working for this camera, that would be more clear. However, I don't know what Face 1 Position 132 109 104 104 means for Panasonic. If time allows, I'll see if I can figure that part out.
