Slow reaction #95

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run Android
2. (simply) use it
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'm experiencing a slower reaction time with r169 release with respect to r127.
This new release is more stable but I feel slower in opening configuration,
starting application and so on....
when you click something you often have to wait the system is ready to process
it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
26.08.2011_r169

Please provide any additional information below.

well,
what I am experiencing is more general and not only related to the first access
to some of settings: the system is slower in any condition with respect to r127
release.

orlando; try 2 do full format using windows desktop. then try to fresh boot it.
if the prob still persist get a class 2 sdcard instead.

Hi azman... I would tend to postpone the formatting and the new boot as I'm
experiencing the problem only with Android (WinMo applications on sd card run
properly with no slow reaction) and only with r169 android release.

If the problem was due to the sd card, I would experience the problem in both
window mobile and android r127.

Anyway, I'll keep your suggestion in mind and test that way in future.
Thanks again

orlando; to access apps on sdcard is one thing but to boot live on sdcard is
another thing. i've been there; done that. one of the devs also confirmed to me
that the most suitable is class2. i've tried class 4 and class10.

if the previous versions worked without problem it's probable that it has
nothing to do with SD card read/write speeds.

i have tested to run it on PQI 4GB microSDHC class2 and Sandisk 4GB microSDHC
class2 and works perfectly. however, i tried running it (new installation) on
Ridata 8GB microSDHC class4, but im having troubles, slow reaction most of the
time, and delays.. is it limited to 4gb and below only?

The problem is that there are too many tasks running.
all you have to do is download an app from the market called "ES task manager"
and place the widget on the main screen.
it'll show how many tasks are running and by a single tap it'll close them all,
this app also helps with the battery drain issue.

I found out it's based on the used SD-card. My 2Gb-Card ist formatted with FAT;
my newest card is 8GB with FAT32. Here is the bottleneck: with FAT32 is it very
very slow!

at a first glance, it seems r175 works better than previous releases even if I
experience some slow reaction when 3G is connected and downloading data....
Let's see!!
