Only ~10% of an SVG with numerous path objects are displayed #461

I am trying to display a Europe map with CSS-based highlighting (see
attachment) by using the current version of SVGweb, the web server supplied
with SVGweb, Flash 10.0.45.2, and both Firefox 3.6, and IE 8 on WinXP Pro.
However, the loading of the graphics goes *very* slowly (and occupates one
whole CPU core), and then it only displays some 10% of my SVG file. The
"native" SVG player routines of Firefox, however, display everything
correctly and with reasonable speed.

I use no SMIL & no JavaScript in my SVG, only CSS styles with the hover
feature.

I've just found out what the problem is: As described in Issue #189, CSS style
statements can only be denoted in the STYLE attribute of the corresponding
object
tag, and neither in a STYLE area, nor in a separate CSS file. It's gonna be
hard for
me to write a workaround, but that's life. :(
