pause do not work with webtv or webradio #60

Hello,

The pause function (time shifting in that case) is working well with
Freebox TV flux. Not with web based TV or Radio; when clicking pause the
show is stoped as it was suspected but when unpausing we start again where
we was just to empty the buffer, then we are coming back to "live show".

As my VLC is doing it without problem I suspect a subtility in VLC
interface programming as the method can be different between RTSP, HTTP or
whatever else protocol to do time shifting. If you don't know I can try to
investigate about this for you in VLC develloper reference.

For info, my system is Debian SID running KDE 4.3.4, GTK 2.18.5 and VLC
1.0.4. FreeTuxTV is version 0.4.1 compiled by myself.

Ok I will check! Can you give me one of WebTVs or WebRadios which have problems?

Sorry for the time I needed to answer: family holidays for a while with no
computer
nor internet access...

Anyway, I don't really know how to get the address of the channel with FreeTuxTV
(Property or modify options in a popup menu for the channel list would be a
good and
natural improvement). The channels are official French webtv and webradio. I've
made
some tries on different channels with alwais the same issue. FreeTV (from the
french
operator 'Free') channels are not affected by the bug. I suppose the streaming
protocol is in cause (or libvlc), as Free is using rtsp and many webtv http.

For information I'm using official Debian SID package for VLC wich is 1.0.4
currently. No version change since last bug repport. I'll do the same test next
time
I have a version change on VLC, or libvlc.

Regards,
Geoffray Levasseur

You can have the URL by launching FreetuxTV from the console, or give me juste
the
name of the channel.

I've made an update of VLC (1.0.4-1 to 1.0.4-2 on Debian) so the bug don't
seems to
appear anymore. A new bug appear that is slightly different: unpausing don't
work,
channel stay paused and when changing channel after that FreeTuxTV freeze.
Channels affected:
- TLL Tele Loire
- La Locale

Maybe some other channels are affected but I didn't made more test. Regarding to
what happens I think this is more a libvlc bug (possibly to transmit to VLC or
Debian team). This is also possibly a Debian bug cause VLC version did not
change,
just Debian build number.

Bug still present, I hope VLC will correct it soon. In FreetuxTV, nothin can be
done to correct this.
