What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download
http://freetuxtv.eric-beuque.com/packages/index.php?mode=&id=140&file=freetuxtv_
0.5.1-1lucid2_amd64.deb
2. Install it under Ubuntu

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I did expect a smoothly installation, but the installation always fails with
error: Cannot install »libvlc2«

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
freetuxtv 0.5.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 x64
Already installed: vlc 1.1.2

Please provide any additional information below.
I tried to install »libvlc2« manually, but the appearing error message
reported that this package depends on »libvlccore2«, which depends on
»vlc-data« (=1.1.0~rc3-1~ppa1). However, the installed version of
»vlc-data« is 1.1.1-1~ppa1.

Looks like Issue 72:
http://code.google.com/p/freetuxtv/issues/detail?id=72

I've also installed the latest VLC 1.1.2 from
http://ppa.launchpad.net/c-korn/vlc/ubuntu

You have to install the package for libvlc5, and for Lucid what you can found
here : http://freetuxtv.eric-beuque.com/packages/

Sorry, in fact there is no package avaliable for x64 and compatible with VLC
1.1.x. The only way is to compile the software manually.

Yes, I'm sorry but I don't have any contributor for to provide this package.
Perhaps, yo can try to install the maverick package, availiable here :
https://launchpad.net/~freetuxtv/+archive/freetuxtv/+packages

Maybe it can works with Lucid.

Unfortunately, there appeared another error when I tried to install the
maverick package.

Error: dependency cannot be resolved: libnotify1 (>= 0.5.0)

Do you have a manual for compiling libvlc5 on a x64 machine?

No problem!

The installation of this package
http://freetuxtv.eric-beuque.com/packages/index.php?mode=&id=153&file=freetuxtv_
0.5.1-0lucid1_amd64.deb
and the program itself works properly on Lucid x64. Thanks!
