a drag/blurred effect behind moving objects

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.just try freetuxtv with Ubuntu 10.04

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
watch a moving object (a hand for example)
you'll see some kind of woolly effect behind it
instead of a clear space

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
freetuxtv = 0.3.0
Ubuntu = 10.04
VLC = 1.0.6

Please provide any additional information below.

Can you try if deinterlacement (in the video menu) correct you problem?

Hi Eric

As I told you on the French section of the forum, my problem is to install the 
latest version 1.1.3 on top of the existing one 1.0.6 which does not support 
deinterlacement.

Maybe someone could help how to do it from what I got in attachment
