[Feature Request] Random color for a specific light? #7

Hey there @mvdwetering . I know you say you don't really maintain this plugin anymore but I still find it very useful and was hoping that if you have finally moved onto Kodi 17 you might, per your last comments update the plugin for v17 use?

If you have any plans to do so might I ask for a feature to be added?

In my theater setup, I have a light behind my TV used as bias lighting. When all the other lights in the room go off this one comes on. Would it be possible for you to add a switch to the light section so it would change the color of this light randomly? I like to take advantage of the Hue colors and have my bias light be a different color each time we watch a movie.

In the mean time I have indeed switched to Kodi 17 now it is just a matter of finding time to work on the plugin.

I don't understand how the bias light currently turns on? Is it saved as a preset in the plugin? If that is the case it is not really possible since I store the preset in the Hue bridge and I can only just recall it later. Also is it only 1 light or do you have multiple lights on where only 1 should change color? Not sure if I completely understand the situation/desired outcome.

My lighting setup is pretty simple actually and is just set up with one of your presets.

In my living room I have 3 lights: A light at the back of the room A light near the front of the room A color changing light behind the TV

My "play" preset is set to turn OFF the lights at the back and the front of the room and turn ON the light behind the TV.

The light behind the TV, being a color changing light, always comes on at the color I had it set to when I saved the preset. I was just hoping that this light could be randomized so when I start a movie it doesn't always come on with the same color.

The other Kodi Hue plugin out there can do this but it is so unstable its not really usable.The plugin for Plex can also do this.

Definitely not a big deal and in hindsight it would probably complicate the simplicity (and stability) of your plugin anyway.
