7 months ago This looks to be a lot of work, including:
- Converting the schema
- Compiling the schema and installing it
- Figuring out how to test (see the ominous note in this tutorial: " The schema will be installed automatically in the expected directory when building the application. This means that the application can only be run once it’s installed."
- Handling the more loosely defined keys and values
- Importing the existing gconf settings
GConf is deprecated. Its replacement is DConf, and the best way to use that seems to be via GSettings, which will choose the appropriate back-end.
