I needed a higher iso-level recently. Did I hear that this breaks Windows compat? if yes, is that problem?

What does level 4 offer that you needed? I'm slightly against this in that I want the output ISO to resemble the input one as much as possible, but well am not going to be obstructive over that. Would some kind of option that allowed to supply additional arguments to pass to xorriso suffice?

custom xorriso options is a nice alternative. Let's do that.
