You are using the old (outdated) installation routine. I sent you a note on CN.
Chris, did it work out ? Michel
Michel:
I'm just getting back to this, as I've been traveling. But I'll let you know when I decide to attack the software again.
Best regards

Hi Michel:
I've gotten the MW4 package installed under Python 3.10, but I seem to have a problem initiating the program. My previous problems came from the environment paths when you install Python (fortunately you can modify after install), where Win11 sets it for you. Once that was straightened out, the install went smoothly, but MountWizzard failed to start. Here is the installation script:
C:\Users\chris\Downloads\mw4\mwmaster\support\3.0>python startup.pyz ...adding basic packages
---------------------------------------------
MountWizzard4
---------------------------------------------
script version : 3.1
platform : Windows
machine : AMD64
python : 3.10.8
---------------------------------------------
Install and activate virtual environment
MountWizzard4 not installed
Install version 3.1.0
...this will take some time
MountWizzard4 installed
MountWizzard4 starting
...failed to start MountWizzard4
---------------------------------------------
Closing application
---------------------------------------------
MountWizzard doesn't seem to show up in the Control Panel > Programs, so I'm guessing there is still something I need to install. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Michel:
Here is the log file for my installation. I've tried this again under a couple of configurations, but it seems to stop working at the same point, though it tells me I have a successful install.... Thanks! Chris

Hi Chris,
that's a tricky one. There is something with the 10micron updater. For a short test, please install the 10micron firmware updater (ideally the one for your actually installed firmware on the mount). If it's another it is ok, too, but you should not update your firmware. After done this, just run the startup.pyz script as described again.
Michel
Ok, I will try that. Thanks for taking time to look at this.
Best regards
Chris

Hi Michel:
It's interesting and encouraging. I reinstalled the firmware. The MountWizzard4 app started up this time, but promptly shut down. It's telling me that the config.cfg is not existing ... which seems correct, as it doesn't exist. Is that what the firmware is supposed to set up? I've written out the log file here:

Hi Chris, thanks for trying out. I have do find a comparable setup to yours and make some more tests with it. Something seems to be wired. Unfortunately I‘m on business trip in Asia next 2 weeks, so I do not have my dev setup with me. I‘ll come back as soon as I had a closer look to your issue.MichelAm 02.08.2023 um 22:31 schrieb Chris Westland @.***>: Hi Michel:

that's a tricky one. There is something with the 10micron updater. For a
short test, please install the 10micron firmware updater (ideally the one
for your actually installed firmware on the mount). If it's another it is
ok, too, but you should not update your firmware. After done this, just run
the startup.pyz script as described again.

Hi Chris, thanks for trying out. I have do find a comparable setup to yours and make some more tests with it. Something seems to be wired. Unfortunately I‘m on business trip in Asia next 2 weeks, so I do not have my dev setup with me. It's interesting and encouraging. I reinstalled the firmware. The
MountWizzard4 app started up this time, but promptly shut down. It's
telling me that the config.cfg is not existing ... which seems correct, as
it doesn't exist. Is that what the firmware is supposed to set up? I've
written out the log file here:

I have not been able to get this to work yet. Michel. It's been some time since I have addressed the issue, so let me take another shot at it.
