error message when creating new reference #103

  1. When creating a new reference manually, the "initial" field does not take the "period" character.
  2. If a blank author field is added (i.e. user clicks in "add author" but does not have anything to add), there is no going back.
  3. The error message is not very helpful in either case:

Ref was NOT created authors is invalidauthors is invalid. If you recieve a content_type error the pdf is not being recognized, see wiki-help.
