Okay, without commenting on the issue itself: it says RIGHT THERE that:
The mark consists of The word "SUDOKU" followed by two Japanese characters.
and that it applies to:
Downloadable computer game software for wireless devices
I don't think that this particular trademark filing has any bearing on this.
I've noticed whenever someone tries to explain this algorithm, they compare it with the process of solving a sudoku puzzle, so maybe rename the project (and therefore the algorithm) to: Sudoku + (WaveFunction) Collapse = SudokuCollapse, best of both worlds? This way the phrase wouldn't collide with that which it is inspired by (https://github.com/mxgmn/WaveFunctionCollapse/issues/79) but would still reference it, and would include a reference to something that best explains how it works. What do you think?
