Integrate epubcheck-4 #311

I have noticed that the development of this tools runs a bit slow and stale, 
and I am not sure if it's actively maintained anymore.

There are other code bases that develop epubcheck as well: 
https://github.com/IDPF/epubcheck-4.0

Wouldn't it be beneficial if these efforts would be merged?

Hi Jens,

the github repo contains some big code changes and will soon be merged with the 
current code. Production, wiki, issues, etc. will also move to github.

There will be an announcement in the next few weeks...

However, your help in improving the codebase is always welcome! Feel free to 
join development! :)

It seems that the former epubcheck-4.0 (see initial link) has been replaced by

    https://github.com/IDPF/epubcheck

Talking with Steve he said that the current latest version is 3.0.2, based on 
epubcheck-4.0.  The old epubcheck (this version here) would now be integrated 
into the new Git tree.

Not sure what that means for the existing and open issues though.  I noticed, 
for example, that 3.0.2 (ex 4.0) still contains

At the time of writing the latest release is still 3.0.1. The next release will 
be 3.0.2, based on changes that will be added to the master branch of the 
project at GitHub.

The code that was in the now-deleted epubcheck-4.0 project has been moved to 
the contrib/nook of the epubcheck project. It will be the basis for the 4.0 
release.

This tracker has been entirely moved to GitHub, #299 and #302 from here are 
still open issues there:
