Moneydance shows error message "The folder … can't be opened." #4

If you see the error message "The folder … can't be opened." when launching Moneydance, chances are you have chosen an invalid base directory, i.e. a base directory that can't be accessed.

If you're on a Mac and you're using Moneydance 2012, you have to choose the current user's Downloads directory as the base directory (or a subdirectory thereof). On Mac OS, a valid base directory would look like this:

/Users/username/Downloads
