But, Jenni is basically Phenny with bug fixes and more modules. Its like choosing an upgrade package on a car, not comparing two different cars.
Well I wouldn't say it is only bug fixes. In fact the one bug of the double message and then quit is still present but seems to come around less often. Though I would describe jenni as phenny with more features, if anything else. A good comparison chart between jenni, phenny, and Willie would be interesting to see.

First item for this chart: the bug of "double message and then quit" is fixed in Willie. See embolalia/willie issue #63 for details.
Willie also has a much different (and may I say, more compact and simple) config file format, and seems to be the only one of the trio that supports SSL.
I'm pretty sure the disconnect part of saying something twice is fixed in jenni. I can't figure out specifically which commit. It seems to have stopped when the "raw" functionality was added to __write in irc.py. (for .write in admin.py) jenni still occasionally does the double message, but she doesn't disconnect when it happens.
I think a good place to start in finding a comparison of IRC bots would be this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_Relay_Chat_bots
I was thinking something like this. https://sites.google.com/site/xchatwdk/home/comparison
I just whipped this up real quick. I focused mainly on the stuff we've added to Wilie in the past couple versions. I don't know as much about the difference between jenni and phenny. Feel free to fill that out more, if you like.
I've updated that page to show Supybot and Eggdrop as well (and some features coming in Willie v4.1.0 when it's released soon) though since their documentation isn't great and I haven't really used them, they're a bit lacking. (Feel free to update, if you know more.)
@embolalia awesome! thanks for the update! :)
I'm closing this issue since this page has solved this, https://github.com/embolalia/willie/wiki/Comparison-to-other-bots
Someone walking into a store. They know they want a bot, but they are not sure what brand they want. The salesmen are on coffee break for the 10th time today and now the customer has search for the differences between two products. Now the customer is getting mad cause he or she can't find the comparison chart for the two bots. Now the customer just gets mad and leaves the store only to go to another store and gets a Supybot.
tl;dr .. would be nice to be able to compare features of the two bots.
