Here are some ideas to make Villager trading harder. Not all of then need to be implemented, but as the mod aims to make gathering food harder, it should also make dealing with villagers harder as villagers make getting food easier.
[ ] Buying food from villagers generates minor_negative gossip, raising all nearby trade prices.
Buy too much food at once, and you will be attacked and killed on sight by nearby Iron Golems (vanilla behavior triggered by having enough negative gossip).
[ ] All trades involving food items have their trade prices doubled.
[ ] Villager breeding fails at least 50% of the time, no matter what.
[ ] Villagers trade during working hours only, which are from 8:00 am (1m 40s) to 5:00 pm (8m 20s).
Villagers restock their trades once when the day time reaches 8:00 am (2000 ticks; 1m 40s).
Villagers lock all their trades when the day time reaches 5:00 pm (10000 ticks; 8m 20s).
The villager trade locked message now says "Villagers trade during working hours only" (or some variation thereof).
