Trash disappeared from the Dock #737

This is not exactly a problem but more a difficulty: I have deleted the Trash from the dock bar by mistake, and can’t find a system to insert it correctly. Obviously dragging a trash link into the bar will bring up the icon, but it doesn’t work as it should, in the sense that dragging a file over it doesn’t delete it. Is there a system to re-insert it or do I have to reinstall the program?
