This appears to be a windows thing:

chrome --enable-easy-off-store-extension-install https://github.com/downloads/MyKiwi/github-timeline/github-timeline.js

Any idea what the Mac equivalent is?

The readme is inspired by the SteamGift script. But it is not perfect. For Mac (or linux), I don't know yet. I will search on my free time.
