when I change the active window opacity in the settings app, 1 step makes to big change for my personal preference, therefor I wanted to change this manually in the .config/hypr/conf/general.conf like so:

general {
    gaps_in = 5
    gaps_out = 20
    border_size = 2
    col.active_border = rgba(33ccffee) rgba(00ff99ee) 45deg
    col.inactive_border = rgba(595959aa)
    layout = master
    resize_on_border = true
}

decoration {
  active_opacity = 0.85
}

does the settings app override these manual settings?

i personally have not found a way yet to avoid the updates from overriding my zshrc and hyprlad configurations, on my next go round I am thinking about rather than reaplacing the config .folder for say alacritty settings, that it may work to follow the link and replace the file actually within the dotfiles hoping that it will appear like it hasn't been altered, if it works i'll check back, will probably be soon because just as i fixed my Nvim config i am being promped to upgrade again. When you upgrade you aer prompted to choose which configs get transferred over but it seems that no matter what i choose i have to reset my monitor and zsh and other configs.

Currently I have all my unique configurations in a zip file on cloud storage, pretty simple to download and sort but not ideal. I also seem to be having issues setting upa stow repo on github because it conflicts with the stow directory which is used to deploy the initial scripts and configurations

Possibly a suggestion to opt out of updates if you just want a stable system that is not constantly changing, as wayland and hyprland gain support for previously unsupported apps. Basically how do we turn the update scripts off, more advanced users could
