Simple Last.fm doesn't save settings on Samsung Galaxy S 2.2.1 JPY

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use SGS with 2.2.1 JPY firmware
2. Simple last.fm will not save settings (i.e. username and  password)
3. It will work for a while, and then after i enter Simple last fm settings it 
shows my username/password fields blank

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Empty fields for username and passwords, and all settings reverted to defaults

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
1.3, Android 2.2.1

what device?
Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000

Please provide any additional information below.
I know that it can be solved by rooting and changing certain things in 
filesystem structure, but it is way too complicated to rrot just to get this 
app working. Scrobble droid works fine.

same here with the standard firmware (froyo)
the settings are not saved and therefore sls is not working (scrobble droid 
neither, doesn't save user and password as well)
