This player is not beta any more and was updated on all Nexus One phones. 
Scrobbling has stopped working after the update.

Confirmed: v1.3.3 does not scrobble music on my Nexus One (Gingerbread 2.3.4 - 
GRJ22) running Google Music v3.0.1.339. 

The scrobble cache is empty and stats indicate that no scrobbles have been 
submitted.

I have verified that last.fm account is logged in and that "Android Music 
Player" is an enabled app. 

Note: v1.3.3 is the first version that I have installed and tried.

Searching for "SLS" in aLogcat gives:

I/SLSPlayStatusReceiver(23355): Got a bad track from: Android Music Player, 
ignoring it (no such media in media store)

Confirmed not working on my HTC Incredible 2 with GB 2.3.3. Under "Enabled 
apps", Android Music Player "This app is not installed".
