14 years ago Hi Carlos. As you probably have noticed, we havent updated or supported this plugin very well recently as we have been very busy in our regular production. Our goal is to find more time for this in the future. It' hard to debug any translate problem without the actual yaml file, but I can say that we havent had your kind of problems in our own setup. General debugging tips:
- Check your yaml-file carefully after the failed translation and look for strange things.
- Sometimes ruby:s YAML lib will escape reserved words like no, yes and false to strange looking strings like ("? 'no' :") if they are used as keys. Dont change them! They still work
- Try to isolate the string that has first failed to translate and check the yaml doc (http://yaml.org/spec/1.0/ ) to see if your string or symbol could be interpreted as something else by the yaml parser.
- Check the forks of translate and se if someone already has fixed your bug.

We have used this wonderful plugin to translate our project to 18 languages.
However, our community has raised the issue that, when saving more than 5 or 6 entries, there is loss of data. This is very frustrating after typing a whole page of translations.
The checkout we are running is 2009-11-02 and we're on Rails 2.3.4, along with the gem versions found below.
It does not appear to be a known issue. It's not very reliable to reproduce unfortunately. Do you think you know what could possibly be going on?
We also have some feedback:
1.- would it be possible to save the yml files in sorted order, so that we can clearly see diffs with git diff? 2.- "can you change the "save" button function not to go back to the 1st page so that I can push the "save" button more frequently?"
Awesome job on this plugin! In the mean time, we have updated all gems and we will try again.
