Make streetlight numbers available to people making reports #969

My local council has a map of streetlights

http://www.lightingcambridgeshire.com/existing-street-lighting.htm

Being shown streetlight numbers on the map before making a report of broken or damaged streetlights might be useful; it would make it easier to make accurate reports it's easier for the council to deal with.

If the streetlight data can't be added to the map; perhaps a link to council's maps could be offered?

If the council make their street light location data available as open data in some way, we (or a volunteer) could potentially e.g. add it as a layer to the map when you selected the Street light category within Cambridgeshire. We include a layer for trees and playground equipment in Bromley, merged with the StreetView layer map on fix.bromley.gov.uk. I see you can request transparent PNGs giving street light locations such as on the right:

I wouldn't want to mandate a number, as some council reporting websites do, as this would put people off reporting if they didn't have the number. The street light numbers in Cambridge only appear to be unique per street on that map. A link would be a simpler thing to do, sure, though it would be good if you could link directly to the right part of the map :)

This is something we've had commercial interest in from councils. (Usually lighting, also rights-of-way.)

User suggestion:

"Could you install a box to pop up so the public can enter the street light number and say "Please enter the street light number" BUT please can you not make it a Required Field so if you leave the box blank it will still send the report to the Council.

Most councils epically, Hull, East Riding, North Lincolnshire & North East Lincolnshire and Leeds City Council are all wanting street light numbers"
