remind users on every page about unconfirmed email addresses? #717

This is essentially a simpler alternative to #716:

Perhaps a simpler alternative would be to simply add a message to the top of every page they see on the site until they've confirmed their address, saying something like:

"You haven't confirmed your email address after creating your account, so your problem report hasn't been sent yet. If your confirmation email still hasn't arrived, please [contact us] so we can investigate."

... linking to a customized page suggesting how to get in touch, with the contact methods you suggested before. We could make this message subtly more "loud" as time passes, as well. That approach, which wouldn't involve integrating bounces, would take much less time.

In addition, if they are trying to register with an email address that is already registered, we display a note to check their spam box and to contact the team directly with details of another email address?

It would also be helpful if we could display their email address while stating this message, so that they may notice any typos on their email address.

Another option might be to check the email address as it is typed in and if it is not a common email address (eg @btinternet.com, @googlemail.com, etc) when they click to register, the site asks them to check their email address. If it is a common mis spelling of common email (eg @btinterent.com) the site states this "We think you mean @btinternet.com", is this correct?
