Scoping BHESCo pilot #69

From Zarino Siôn and I had a call with a very enthusiastic Ente from BHESCo, on Friday – they’re starting another round of their Retrofit Streets programme in November and are really worried about finding an effective tool for organising / communicating with the streets / neighbours on the programme – they used WhatsApp last time and it was a nightmare (see call notes) – so when they saw Neighbourhood Warmth, they assumed that would solve the problem for them. Little did they know we don’t have any messaging / communication stuff built into NW. I told them as much, but said we could at least investigate whether we could quickly add something like that, so they could pilot NW over the Winter.

Emily/Zarino: 11/9/23 Looks like a great opportunity for us to pilot NW tool with an existing, well-aligned, highly active group. Concerns around timing and capacity in the run up to LIH, which we should work through.

Zarino: 13/9/23 Quick research on Django forum packages suggests https://misago-project.org is probably the most actively developed, although unclear whether it can be included as an app within an existing Django project, or whether it has to be run stand-alone. Other options (may be outdated): https://djangopackages.org/grids/g/forum/

Immediate tasks

Closing this as further work is currently redundant. BHESCo needed something that was ready to run and didn't quite manage to clue us into that until after they'd started with 'their other direction'
