Domain verification #1342

Open MyfanwyNixon opened 6 years ago

From yesterday I can no longer edit the description that appears with TWFY links in tweets, so every single one now reads 'TWFY is a website' etc.

Hootsuite points to this page: https://help.hootsuite.com/hc/en-us/articles/115009836987

Facebook has enabled a tool in the Facebook Business Manager to let businesses continue customizing Page post previews for links to their own domains. It’s called Domain Verification. Follow these steps to verify your domain(s) and associate your Facebook Page(s) to these domains, so that you can continue customizing your Page post link previews.

Then on the FB page:

To implement domain verification, you need to choose between two different methods: 1) add a DNS TXT entry to your DNS record to confirm that you own the domain, or 2) upload an HTML file provided by Facebook to your web directory and confirm domain ownership in Business Manager.

If this is relatively easy please could someone do it? :)

I've added a TXT record to the theyworkforyou.com zone, so hopefully this should resolve things.

@MyfanwyNixon can you confirm whether this is still a problem?

Unfortunately it is: this is what it looks like when you input a TWFY link to a FB update via Hootsuite

(That said, I have recently been too busy to link to debates as much as I used to)
