We've had a back and forth with a new user who wasn't confident that we weren't going to charge him for API usage despite the fact that his project qualified for charitable usage.
We do regularly get people enquiring how they would access the charitable tier, daunted by the initial sign-up.
This person was also confused by the second step, having created an account. You have to click 'please choose a plan' (with prices attached) and when you tick the 'charitable use' box there's no obvious indication that the discount has been applied until you Add Plan.
Of course, no payment details have been collected at this point, but for more nervous users this is obviously a barrier/concern.
