+1 As a temp fix, I can always post Isle of Wight memes on main when the inbox is on zero!
I don't yet have an opinion on this, but would be useful to elaborate on why. I can guess, but also don't want to make assumptions.
I suppose it really depends how much of a problem it is when we start clogging things up with discussions about the merits and demerits of Network Rail's approach to railway engineering works.
And also whether we want such discussions somewhere else. The thing is, they are often sparked by something pertinent, and how do we find the dividing line (even for new discussions)
How does it work for actual mySociety staff members?
We still have the WDTK workspace I can add people to, but that would exclude staff. It's good to get to know the people who you "work" with and share a common interest with, particularly when the inbox is on zero. It's all about community, connection and building something bigger. But really, we just need somewhere to talk about trains without annoying everyone else!

I believe they have a number of non-work Slack channels.
To further add to this, I think it helps to think about this in terms of what people might want access to in relation to an interest/hobby, rather than their job.
There are now two members of staff in the WDTK workspace, although only one is active there, the inactive one no longer working on WDTK as part of their role.
We have trains, which due to single channel guest issues, is likely all we're going to have for now.
