Here's some suggested copy. Would we be able to calculate the number of representatives with no contacts (excluding those where we have a democratic services address)? Because if so (and of course if the number is relatively low) it'd be good reputation management to emphasise that the user is unlucky & in the minority, thus:
Unfortunately we're unable to send your message to [name of rep] because we do not currently have contact details for them.
The email address we have on file may have stopped working -- perhaps the mailbox is full or the address has been changed -- or we may have been unable to locate a current address. Either way, you're unlucky: [name of rep] is one of just xx% for whom we don't have contact details.
If you have five minutes to check [name of council/rep]'s website and find an email address for this representative, you can [contact us here]. We'd be very grateful, and you'll be helping future WriteToThem users, too.
Would this idea suffer directly after elections, when we had greater numbers of reps without a contact address though?
@JenMysoc - please could this be discussed at a sprint allocation soonish?
The title is overly dramatic and leads to people emailing us to say that the site is broken, when really it's just that we don't have email addresses.
