I started getting this yesterday after upgrading VirtualBox (which I did because VB's RDP wasn't showing the whole desktop and the keyboard wasn't working either, so was hoping upgrade would resolve that).
Now I don't know how to fix my VM.
00:00:00.677783 Full Name: "AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor "
00:00:00.676245 HM: Guest support: 32-bit only
Make sure you configure the VT-x/AMD-V support for 64-bit guests. After that, you'll have to either select a compatible CPU profile or find or write custom CPUID settings if none of the built-in profiles work.
@myspaghetti I got into similar problem, even after it boots fine during installation. Using the troubleshoot function, I got this:
00:00:06.340829 HM: Guest support: 32-bit and 64-bit
@Secmess please attach the macos_troubleshoot.txt
file and describe the issue in slightly more detail: does the VM boot into the macOS login screen, or does it stop during startosinstall
, or does it stop before startosinstall
begins, etc?
@myspaghetti right after installation, it boots fine into desktop (VBox screenshot below) and got this message:
That's it! Enjoy your virtual machine.
But when I close it and open it up myself, it stucks in UEFI similar to what @AndreiSva got here. Here I attach my troubleshoot file. macOS_troubleshoot.txt
UPDATE: Restarted everything, it seems I got a similar problem like #459, which I didn't realize the terminal was still running (a.k.a stuck). Managed to fix it (detailed my solution in that issue).
SUGGESTION: Just a small (but I think very important) was that the text That's it! Enjoy your virtual machine.
is too early to be said when there's a lot of potential for error point even after that text. I think some checks are necessary as my first time installing this, I genuinely thought the process is all done.
The install starts normally downloading the MacOS sources but uppon the boot of the VM everything gets stuck on an UEFI shell :/.
Here's the output of the troubleshoot command
