auto reconnect when connection dropped [feature request] #221

By nature, the majority of individual nodes in Mysterium are not as stable as a commercial VPN. If for no other reason, this is because the node operators need to update their software occasionally, and the instructions for doing so on the web site ensure that any connections will be dropped when this occurs. Thus, it is necessary to have some kind of feature to automatically reconnect when the connection drops.

Three possibilities are the following:

  1. Auto reconnect to same node. This assumes that the node will come back online in a couple minutes, most likely a result of an update/reboot/power-outage.
  2. Auto reconnect to another node in the same country.
  3. Auto reconnect to any node in a different country.

It will be nice to have this feature. Specially on MacOSes when entered in sleep mode all net is shutted off. When the OS wake up I always need to reconnect manually.

How is this feature request still not being worked on? Almost every competitor has this feature...

Thanks guys! MysteriumVPN team completely agrees with you. I am gonna go ahead and move this to our our DVPN ideas/backlog (prioritized list of functionality requests) so we can implement it ASAP.
