Last update April 2017 (adopting the package) #115

Hi, This package is kinda abandoned for more than a year. Author's (@myuhe) activity in github faded away also, and there's no mail or extra info where to ping.

I'm volunteering for adopting the package and maintaining it (at least, caring about contributions) so melpa has a recent last version.

@kidd are you going to be taking over? I'm considering forking this and making tweaks of my own, but I don't think I can mantain it.

If you are I could send some pull requests there.

bobberb commented 6 years ago

Out for a year

I have a fork already at https://github.com/bobberb/org-gcal.el/commits/master that I can consider "working". It contains these PRs #60 #83 #101 #103 #108 . Someone star-ed my fork. I'm a nobody!

I consider these to be the 5 minimum pulls required for a base working install for 2018.

@kidd please adopt, call MELPA! I hate maintaining my own branches!

hello guys.

I was thinking of starting from @bobberb which looks like the most up-to-date fork. The thing is that I posted this 25 days ago, and honestly I don't think it's enough time to go to melpa and ask for a swap of repos.

I'm going start merging stuff in my fork so we have everything in place and after some time, "take over" the melpa fork ,or give it back to @myuhe.

kidd commented 6 years ago

I started merging stuff. I'll be conservative for now as I'm not really a heavy user of all the features of the package, so if you want something merged, please send a PR to https://github.com/kidd/org-gcal.el .

kidd commented 6 years ago

Update: Most of the migration is done already.

After we merge https://github.com/kidd/org-gcal.el/pull/5, everything will be in except https://github.com/myuhe/org-gcal.el/pull/85, which can't be merged automatically, and I'll probably leave it as it is for now until someone PR's it, or I figure out if it's really needed.

I've reached out melpa guys to find out how to properly replace the source repo.

wakatara commented 6 years ago

+1 and ❤️ I actually just started using this and am kinda lurving it though notice it has a bug I'd relly like to take a crack at (gcal events created automagically from mail for travel type events seem to duplicate every refresh with the calendar. Sooooo wanna crush it.).

Any ETA @kidd on when you'll have adopted the package repo and package completely?

kidd commented 6 years ago

@wakatara I asked guys at melpa to relocate it, and it shouldn't take too long to do the chnage.

Feel free to send PR's here, and I'll try to check them and merge. Use master as the base branch as 'oauth2' branch is still a bit rough on the edges and might take some time to nail it.

Cheers

@kidd could you check https://github.com/myuhe/org-gcal.el/pull/122 and merge it?

kidd commented 5 years ago

@phrxmd done. Thanks for your contribution!

cbmarc commented 5 years ago

@kidd have you posted the project to MELPA as of today?

kidd commented 5 years ago

Yes. The current org-gcal in melpa is kidd/org-gcal
