WOT definitely, significantly slowed down Firefox (11.0). After I installed it I started noticing my computer becoming unresponsive while I was working on a presentation. (I wasn't doing anything in the browser except I had a youtube vid streaming, which became choppy and occasionally stopped playing altogether -- not a buffer issue.) I opened up the sysinternals process explorer and saw FF taking up 50% CPU on my dual core system. It would do this for maybe 30s - 1m at a time and I also noticed the working set surging up above 1GB.

I thought it might have been some other tab I had open and so closed a bunch, but it didn't make a difference. Firefox just continued to hog my CPU intermittently. I removed WOT and the problem is gone. I also noticed that, given the same set of tabs, Firefox is using quite a bit less memory without WOT. So currently it's holding at about 350MB of memory; with WOT the "same" session was up above 500MB.

I did check that WOT was set to warn, not block problem sites. I've included my system profile in case it helps.

Perhaps we could get more information before opening an issue? These things are most often solved by simply creating a new Firefox profile.

I filed it as a reminder. It is interesting, what exactly slows down and what can we change to solve the problem.
