Currently, http://dygraphs.com/ is used for plotting. Are there reasons to switch or not switch to https://plotly.com/javascript/?

Both are based on https://d3js.org/.
Plotly has image export in the toolbar; dygraph has at least Dygraph.Export.asPNG(dygraph, img) (see here).
