[Question] No linux version because some linux users like cli for everything? #27

There is no native Linux or Mac port and I don't plan on making one as Linux users constantly tell me how much they love their CLI.

Those linux users are a vocal minority, why not release a linux version for the rest of us? I hope you take this into consideration. I would love to use this tool.

I second this. And I never heard of anyone who is complaining about a GUI version (did you make that up?) in the Video encoding department. So please - think again. I use all tools with a GUI - from Blackmagic Design Studio to Handbrake and the like.

Up for Linux!

If you're interested in AV1 encoding on Linux with a GUI, check out Aviator & rAV1ator:

https://github.com/gianni-rosato/aviator/tree/rAV1ator

https://github.com/gianni-rosato/aviator/

I hope these meet your needs!

Neither one of those can make use of av1an, which seems to be the big benefit of this piece of software @gianni-rosato. The closest Linux users have is qencoder which doesn't even work anymore since av1an switched to Rust.

rAV1ator uses av1an alongside rav1e :) i would know, lol
