Trying to get simplified clock to display properly #2

Hi,

I really like PiClock3. But I need a simplified version of what is being displayed. I only need day/date and the time. So, I've forked the repo and made a few changes to the config files.

Everything works great, except that I can't get the time to fully display within the field . Either end of the timestamp gets cut off (see below). How do I fix that?
