Spell-check fails with punctuation

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Enter string "etc"
2.Right click on etc, correct spelling to "etc."
3.Right click on etc, correct spelling to "etc." (now "etc..")

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
"etc." should not be seen as incorrectly spelled. It does not appear to be 
possible to correctly spell "etc.".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Texmaker 4.4.1, Windows 8

Please provide any additional information below.
I already had MikTek installed along with another editor, I don't know if 
importing a dictionary into that editor would effect Texmaker.

Hi,
There are same problem in french with "sous-jacente" where Texmaker try to 
correct "jacente" with "sous-jacente" making "sous-sous-jacente" and putting 
again jacente with a spelling error.

My system is Texmaker 4.4.1 under Debian 8 with texlive.
