Texmaker crashes after entering a specific string #1506

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a document in TeXmaker
2. Write the string "Enhetstester"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is to be able to write the string in a document.
My program crashes completely with a segmentation fault error, somwhere around
"ste" in the word "Enhetstester"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I run Ubuntu 14.04 with MATE as a desktop environment. The problem emerges with
both TeXmaker 4.1.1 and 4.4.1, both 64-bit versions.

Please provide any additional information below.

Just use the official package on the project home site :

I don't understand what you mean with "official package".
First I was using Texmaker 4.1.1 (acquired via apt-get), discovered this bug,
removed it and installed the "Ubuntu 14.04 amd64 package :
texmaker_ubuntu_14.04_4.4.1_amd64.deb (Qt4)" from the very site you link to.
Opened a empty document and the exact same thing happens again.

If I wasn't to busy trying to finish the report I'm working on (in texmaker) i
could send you a screen capture.
