TLL? Do you use http://springfiles.com/spring/tools/upspring-texture-pack-v2 or default with Upspring? Do you texture by modifying UV map in image editor like me?

You do it like me! I thought Upspring might have some faster way. I only found 2nd version while I was looking to download Upspring after I lost original link from Spring's website.

I wasn't very productive because I was having problems learning to stop playing an FPS game. I'm not even sure any model I make will work ingame. TBH, at first, I was worried that you already had V2 and every modeller had it and giving you link would make me look new, though I am new at modelling. Hm, I never did the 'flip UVs' or 'Recalculate Vertex Normals 3DO Style'. I also never defined the model radius and height, but that is because I don't know how big model will be ingame.
I don't think flip UVs applies to my case... What is good value for recalculate Vertex Normals 3do style? Is default good?

Are you having problems with extraction? Do you use linux or windows? If you have access to a linux machine, I think it's file browser can extract .7z. I don't know how to unzip with windows. If you can extract, then I think it was in the folder with common textures for both Talon & The Lost Legacy
Icons? You mean logos. If so look in /unittexture/tatex

why are only 3 tll logos I see in .tga format? These are the same logos just in tga format for team color which is broken. That's why tll logos are pink

If you're texturing in .s3o format, I recommend fill bucketting the blue to white in logo, and make the area teamcolor in 2nd part of texture. If your texturing in .3do format, I don't know how to make the area teamcolor, though you should still do it. For consistency reasons, many players want TLL units to have teamcolor logos like arm and core, instead of blue ones. Thats why a dev tried to change things and make them pink by accident.
nix, if I used only textures from original cavedog texture pack, will my models be okay, or will I have to give you all textures I modified or something? Or am I okay because I am modeling in .s3o? (Why do we keep a big list of all the textures in game files?)

In Upspring, go to Texture Mapping=>Show s3o texture builder. If your using texture 2 (which is first tab, and one you see right after opening), then browse for reflection (which is above) and illumination (which is below). Then use space on bottom to define output location (make sure is in .dds format, you have to add file extension). Then click build texture 2.
Then click texture 1, and browse for the texture with the colors of the model (RGB texture, which is above). Then browse for texture 2, the teamcolor, which is below. i need to retexture it so i cant do that right now i have a dds plugin so im k with that but whats with 2 textures i dont unterstand bla?
2nd texture is for how reflective some parts of unit are and what parts glow. Its optional, so your okay if you don't make it, only first texture with RGB channel and teamcolor are mandatory. I noticed I made a typo, for last sentence in my above comment, I meant 'Then click build texture 1'. I changed it above now.

well i had made a multiple texture model of it so i needed to put it all in one texture file wich took me a lot of work and the UVmapping of wings 3D isnt so good so i had to do it on my own :(

Hm, wings unwraps one of my models in a strange way. http://cloud.github.com/downloads/Bla1/Stuff/needhelp.png The square and four shapes around it are not square, so I cannot drag and drop an image onto them. Do you know what I did wrong (if I made a stupid mistake, that makes sense because I'm an amateur modeler), or have any idea to straighten them?
lets see u are selecting the faces u can just select the whole model/cube and press uvmap and do it that way. is it just a normal cube or are there any atachments to it?
Hm, only thing about cube that can't be seen with picture is that bottom has been hollowed with .hole.
