I've made some changes to the build system in my tree, most notably incorporating pkg-config on Unix to allow the system to provide the location of installed development libraries.
I removed several generated files from my tree that are local machine specific.
Finally, a .desktop file is installed for desktop menus as well as the so2sdr icon. The icon installation may need some additional work as it doesn't display correctly on my KDE 4 menus. The freedesktop.org "standard" calls for a 48x48 pixel icon at a minimum and the provided icon is 24x24 which may cause KDE some heartache. But then the icons change colors on mouse over and the so2sdr icon only shows on mouse over. This may require a graphics talent which I'm not!
My next step is to start on a user manual. My motivation is to have something for our Field Day group to reference.
