Examining the blog as part of the game review page planning made me aware that some data fields for the game pages still aren't visible on the live site.
These are:
cartridge -- which denotes the game's file size
controllerpak -- which denotes whether the game requires the N64 Controller Pak to save game data
rumble -- denotes whether a game has rumble functionality
expansion -- denotes whether a game uses the Expansion Pak
transfer -- denotes whether a game uses the Transfer Pak
It would be good to get these fields showing. When discussing the original mock-ups for the blog, I recall the idea of having icons to represent the controllerpak, rumble, expansion and transfer fields. However, I am aware that the final blog design was considerably different from those mock-ups, so this may no longer be feasible. Naturally, I would prefer the more visual route, but am flexible.
Regarding the cartridge field: I have populated these fields with the megabit value, as this is the original value used at the time. However, displaying megabytes as the primary measurement makes more sense today as it highlights how small the games actually were.
Therefore, this should display as follows:
"XXMB (XX megabits)"
To find the megabyte value, you just divide the megabit value by 8. So, for all standard N64 game sizes that I am aware of, the conversion is as follows:
32 megabits = 4MB
64 megabits = 8MB
96 megabits = 12MB
128 megabits = 16MB
256 megabits = 32MB
320 megabits = 40MB
512 megabits = 64MB
I don't believe there are any other sizes, but if you come across one I've missed then please feel free to check if you want to make sure it's definitely a game size.
