nScope on linux crashes at first #28

When I first ran nScope, with a brand new nScope device attached, it crashed every time. Sometimes after a few moments, sometimes immediately. To get it to work, I needed to start nScope with nothing attached, and then add plug in the device.

Eliminating the crash would of course be best, but at least indicating the proper way to do it on the blog post would also be helpful.

I have something similar, on linux software 0.7 and firmware 0.7 (but was also present on 0.6). After a brief period of monitoring the input, the display ceases to update. I can interact with eg the Horizontal Control; Time Scale slider and updates resume. I suspect it's when focus goes to another application (though it doesn't always immediately follow the focus change); in my case, I am generating a tone from VLC and looking at the voltages generated by a piezo transducer in response. ps shows that nScope is consuming a bit more than 25-26% of CPU on my 4-core PC; sounds like 100% of one core, plus a bit.
